Visit to Liege, Belgium

Ah... a day off. I went with Geppo and Sietske (my hosts) to Liege for the day. We followed a walking tour, which took us up a flight of 377 steps. Great view from the top! And there are houses that line the steps, so someone climbs those every day to get home. Better hope you don't forget something in your car at the bottom. Liege was a much bigger city than I realized --- quite busy. We had a drink at a very old house/bar (I need to look up the history --- hundreds of years old, I'm sure), then we had a delicious dinner (meatballs "Liege style," whatever that meant) before heading home. The nap in the car on the way home was good :-)
Tomorrow is back to work -- going to see the Arcen Castle and an asparagus grower in the afternoon. Tomorrow night is a big party with music from Rob (local Rotarian) and his band. I think they are playing Irish folk music --- should be tons of fun!

  1. Did you know each time you climb a stair you add a second to your life? You added 6 and half today!
